Dear Ellen
I am contacting you about my son, Theodore, who has just turned 4 years. Overall he is a healthy active boy who has a god and balanced diet. Over the last two years he has suffered from stomach problems. First, he suffers from motion sickness and is nearly always sick in aeroplanes – he can’t ear or drink on planes or the next couple of hours after being on a plane. In the last year, now he is at full time school, he has picked up virus’ regularly which have affected his stomach (and stomach only) – every virus has resulted in a 24hour period of violent vomiting (where he can’t keep any food or water down). I am worried about this as he has picked up virus every 6 weeks this last 6 months and this vomiting can’t be good for him. I have consulted a western trained doctor but he views this as normal and has just given me medication to stop his vomiting. Do you think that homeopathic remedies might be able to help him? Many thanks Marianne

Hi Marianne,
Hi Marianne,

Thanks for writing to me. I love it that you sense the importance of the symptoms that you describe.

You are right in worrying about the Doctor’s lack of concern. There is nothing normal about frequent viral infections. He will just end up taking antibiotics until he has killed off the bacterial in his intestines that cooperate with the human digestive system. Instead of seeing a general practitioner, you will be then seeing a GI tract specialist. Each new round of specialist will lead you deeper into the pathologies of the human body. Taking care of the problem now with homeopathy is so much easier that that route or doing it later when medication have made even homeopathy more difficult.
The situation that you are describing is chronic, not acute. This means, that several systems of the body are involved and the symptoms repeat. He is at a relatively supperficial level of attempting to defend himself against pathogens, so the case should not be very difficult from my perspective. He is able to produce distinct symptoms because he is strong, not because he is weak so feel good about that. Still, his cases needs to be handled by a professional homeopath.

Look for someone close to you who is experienced with children, who spends enough time talking to patients and is willing to consider his emotional/mental state as well as the physical symptoms. It sounds complex because it is unfamiliar, but so much more simple than increasing involvement with medication.

If you can’t find that, I would be happy to work with you. I require digital photographs of his face that are follow very specific instructions. Contact through skype is best.

Blessings,
Ellen

Hi Ellen
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. It is comforting that you have supported my concern. I actually live in Tokyo (Yoyogi Koen). Are you based in Tokyo? If so, would we be able to come and see you?
Many thanks
Marianne

Hello Pat,

I sympathize with your position. It is hard to sit and watch your loved ones suffer. Bravo for you. Each effort counts.

I found Kashiwa on the map, and I think if she does not have a car, coming here could be time consuming.

I have found that Japan a number of factors lead to difficulty for Japanese to learn about homeopathy if they are not already motivated:
1. History of a high quality socialized medicine with high public reliance on a system that works until there is too much more medication than the body can use. Thankfully, most young people lack experience with over-medication so they are not wary of the typical medicine. It is hard to be wary if you have not suffered the consequences yet.

2. Competitive society thus wary of the unknown.

One good thing is they like introductions through others. But you have no personal experience with my work so that might not be seen in such a positive light. Maybe you know about homeopathy or have experienced therapy. That makes a big difference.

I would be happy to talk to her in any case. My Japanese language site is tokyohomeopathy.jp She can find my fee information there under the tab called therapy (chiryoo). If she is willing to read the information on the site, she will see that a consultation for a complex case can take 3 hours. I teach classes in homeopathy, and teach English and yoga. So if she is motivated for other reasons to contact me and to get to know me, that works too.

I speak Japanese fluently and would have no trouble talking with her. She might be interested to know that one of my most important teachers is Austrailian. (Grant Bentely).

Best,
Ellen
